Description

Soft panels in a vest cut like a fitted undershirt. The Phantom™ Body Armor Vest carries soft panels made of polyethylene (UHMWPE) and aramid fiber in internal pockets, inside a stretch shell cut close to the body. Under a button-down, a jacket or a work shirt, it reads as a tank top.

  • Undershirt cut. Sleeveless, crew neck, stretch fabric that moves with you.
  • Soft panels, not plates. Flexible polyethylene and aramid panels sit in internal pockets.
  • Side zipper. Opens the side of the vest for easier on and off.
  • Two colors. Black (M to 4XL) or white (M to XL) to match what you wear over it.

Protection notice. Phantom does not publish an NIJ protection rating for this vest, and no vest makes anyone invulnerable. If your work requires armor certified to a specific NIJ level, choose a model listed on the NIJ Compliant Products List.

What is it rated for?
We don't publish a rating. Phantom has not published an independent NIJ certification for this model. So we don't state a protection level or a threat it stops. The panels are polyethylene (UHMWPE) and aramid fiber, the material families used in soft armor. Need armor certified to a specific NIJ level, for work or for peace of mind? Choose a model on the NIJ Compliant Products List.
Will it show under my shirt? Will I be hot?
Under a button-down, a jacket or a work shirt, it reads as a tank top. The panels ride in internal pockets and the shell stays smooth. A thin, fitted T-shirt hides less. And yes, it's warmer than a T-shirt alone: you'll feel it in summer. It's sleeveless, and the side zipper makes it easier to get off once you're inside.
How do I pick a size?
Black comes in M to 4XL and white in M to XL. It's cut to fit close under a shirt. Not sure? Email info@phantomtactic.com with your chest measurement before you order.
How do I care for it?
Keep the panels dry and away from heat and direct sunlight, so don't leave it in a hot car. Don't fold or bunch the panels. Wipe the shell with a damp cloth and let it air dry. Do not machine-wash, soak or iron the vest.
